Rabbit Advocates, a non-profit organization devoted to saving domesticated rabbits, was founded on May 15, 2002.
Promoting the well-being of domestic rabbits was the goal of a small team of volunteers. The organization evolved through time to become what it is today. In 2021,
Rabbit Advocates saved 160 baby bunnies from dangerous circumstances. They placed 148 rabbits in wonderful adoptive homes in the Greater Portland Area with the assistance of 85 licensed foster families. Rabbit Advocates saved 150 rabbits in 2020, and 175 were placed for adoption as house bunnies.

The Pixie Project is a non-profit animal shelter and adoption center.
