Spaying and neutering is a tried-and-true way to ensure every pet has a loving family and reduce pet overpopulation. Home Animal Rescue participates in community outreach and adoption activities that support TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs and early spay and neuter initiatives.

Doberman Rescue of North Texas

For the past 27 years, Doberman Rescue of North Texas (DRNT) has been saving purebred Doberman Pinschers who have been unwanted or abandoned and rehoming them into loving homes. They recover a lot of Dobermans from shelters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Each dog undergoes a vet checkup, current vaccinations, heartworm testing, treatment for any illnesses or medical issues found, and microchipping.

The dogs are transported to Grand Prairie’s private Doberman-only shelter, Doberhof. The sick bay and foster homes only have a small amount of extra room for dogs.

When a potential adopter makes the right decision, each dog is placed in what they hope will be their forever home.

Cat Behavior Solutions

Love animals? Whether working directly with animals, helping out behind the scenes, or supporting Cat Behavior Solutions at their upcoming special event, they have a volunteer position for you.

Cat Behavior Solutions (CBS) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. They save lives by educating people about shelter diversion, providing professional behavior advice, and using innovation and creativity.

There are 58 million domestic cats and an additional 30-100 million feral cats in the United States. Behavior problems are the leading cause of cat death. Every year, 3.2 million cats are turned over to shelters. 75% won’t ever be adopted, and the majority are put to death.

CBS is committed to lowering the number of cats donated to shelters. They address and prevent behavioral problems at home.

Their ideal world is one where everyone is kind to cats and recognizes their needs. Owners can provide their cats with the environment and stimulation they require.

They aim to eliminate and prevent undesirable behaviors and potential shelter surrender with a better understanding of the domestic cat.
