Atlanta Beagle Rescue

The organization Atlanta Beagle Rescue is entirely foster-based.

Atlanta Beagle Rescue, Inc.’s mission is to prevent dogs from being placed in harmful, unsafe, and abusive circumstances, such as euthanasia-prone animal shelters. They also give these animals foster homes and the necessary veterinary care.

They want to raise awareness of the necessity of spaying and neutering in the neighbourhood. Additionally, they want to put the animals in permanent adoptive homes or specialized sanctuaries. The Board of Directors of Atlanta Beagle Rescue meets four times a year to oversee the organization.

All dogs are fostered in private homes throughout the metro Atlanta area, so there are no salaried staff members and no shelter.

To run their program, they depend on adoption donations and other gifts.

The KirkCats

A group of friends and neighbours in Atlanta’s Kirkwood Neighborhood formed KirkCats to control the neighbourhood’s cat population.

Just in Kirkwood, over 200 outdoor cats have had their teeth fixed since 2014, and 50 of them have been given permanent homes. The objectives have been to increase community awareness and care for neighbourhood cats.

They also aim to encourage the care of already-fixed cats while networking to find homes for those that can be kept as pets. In Atlanta’s Intown neighbourhoods, KirkCats has developed into a resource for sharing knowledge and educating people about trap-neuter-return-care (TNRC).

Kirkgate also functions as a non-profit organization that raises money and awards grants to assist with the veterinary care of neighbourhood cats.

Southern Animal Rescue

In November 2008, a passionate group of animal lovers committed to assisting Atlanta’s homeless pets founded Southern Animal Rescue.

Their goal is to find new homes for dogs and cats that have been abandoned, abused, or are homeless in metro Atlanta. They want to teach pet owners how to take care of their pets.

Through the humane technique of TNR, one of their objectives is to decrease the number of feral cats and kittens (trap-neuter-return). They take an active and outspoken role as advocates for abused and abandoned animals.

They think rescue is the only way to address Georgia’s pet overpopulation crisis and save enough lives.

In everything they do, they work to build communities in which no rescue operations will ever again be necessary.
