Enfield Community Cat Project, Inc. in Enfield, Connecticut, was established in 2016 by Dawn Trainor Struck. It is an all-volunteer cat rescue that relies entirely on the kind donations of the local community to run. 

The organization rescues stray and abandoned cats and kittens, treats those that are ill or hurt, and then places them in caring foster homes until they are adopted. 

To lessen overcrowding, misery, and disease, they maintain several feral colonies, providing food, shelter, and TNR. In exchange for owners turning over their kittens to ECCP for adoption, they will spay, vaccinate, and microchip Mom as part of their Surrender Kitten Program.

For the Love of Labs Rescue

They are a foster-based rescue committed to saving labs and lab mixes at risk of being put down. Their organization is made up of Eastern US volunteers that adore labs and want to assist individuals who become homeless through no fault of their own. 

They do their best to assess each dog’s temperament and fitness for a household with kids, cats, and other dogs. Their dog has their health examined, their vaccines are brought up to date, and they are spayed or neutered.

Westfield Homeless Cat Project

The Westfield Homeless Cat Project (WHCP) works diligently to care for kittens and older, sicker cats. They saved and placed over 700 cats and kittens in homes in 2015. 

One of the five senior diabetic cats cared for by WHCP is named Brownie Bear. An 88-year-old man was discovered on the floor, covered in cat waste, by EMTs. A guy took in unspayed/unneutered or medically cared-for wild cats. 

They spread illnesses among one another, making the cats terribly ill. When Baby arrived at WHCP, she was pitifully thin, suffering from terrible dental conditions, and had eye infections. 

She required every tooth extraction, and the eye infections required significant specialist eye treatment. Unfortunately, one eye was beyond repair. 

They rescue cats and kittens without killing them. Over 12,000 homeless, abandoned, and surrendered cats and kittens have been saved and placed in new homes since 2007.

Every cat or kitten that arrives or is rescued will receive the utmost care.

Yappy Tails Animal Rescue Inc.

Yappy Tails Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that ONLY relies on volunteers to save stray dogs from overcrowded shelters.

Since Yappy Tails is a rescue organization rather than a shelter, their dogs are kept in foster homes throughout Connecticut and with their southern rescue partners. Their organization, established in 2018, is dedicated to saving, looking for, and placing stray dogs with loving and responsible families. 

They do not kill the cats or kittens they rescue. Their animals are temporarily placed into foster homes, acclimated, spayed or neutered, and immunized. They are also treated for medical or behavioral issues restricting their adoption potential. 

Since 2007, more than 12,000 homeless, surrendered, and abandoned cats and kittens have been saved and given new homes. Every cat or kitten that comes in or is rescued will receive the best care possible. 

Since animals cannot communicate for themselves, they serve as their voice.

Feral Cats Of East Windsor Inc

They aim to save cats’ lives by catching, neutering, and releasing them from feral cat colonies and putting adoptable cats in loving homes using no-kill principles and education. To end pet homelessness and be Connecticut’s leader in management and placement services for all cats. 

Feral cat colonies are assessed for the trap, neuter, and release programs. FCEW provides food for and cares for certain colonies. Strays are taken care of and adopted. They advocate for all pets to be spayed or neutered. 

They also encourage access to enough food, water, shelter, vaccinations, maintenance of the health care system, and love. They are dedicated to assisting Connecticut in ending cat homelessness by collaborating with regional animal welfare groups, local residents, and volunteers.
