Main Plot: Transformers is a movie about cars that can transform into robots. The main characters were Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Mirage aka Dino, Wheeljack aka Que, and Sideswipe, led by Optimus Prime. The Autobots and Decepticons became involved in a dangerous space war between the US and Russia to reach a gem called Cybertronian spacecraft on the moon. They need to reach this place to learn about its secrets, and it is led by Sam Witwicky to help his robot friends. Sam Witwicky also discovered the conspiracy by the Decepticons to use it for their own benefit. The new villain, Shockwave, is on the scene while the Autobots and Deceptions battle it out on Earth.

Famous quotes:

Optimus Prime: In any war, there are calms between the storms. There will be days when we lose faith, days when our allies turn against us. But the day will never come, that we forsake this planet and its people.

Simmons: Years from now they’re going to ask us: where were you when they took over the planet? We’re gonna say: we stood by and watched.

Que: Ah, good, you’re here. My name’s Que. I do hope you have answers for him. I’ve never seen him so upset!

Lennox: Optimus, you remember Charlotte Mearing, our director of National Intelligence?

[Optimus stays in truck mode]

Dino: He’s in a bad mood. He’s not talking to anybody today.

Charlotte Mearing: What is this, the silent treatment?

Ironhide: We’ve seen that and this is not that.

Que: Definitely not!

Ironhide: This is worse. Prime, make something of yourself!

[bangs fist on top of Optimus’s cab, Optimus transforms]

Ironhide: He’s pissed.

Optimus Prime: [pounds the ground] You lied to us! Everything humans know of our planet we were told had all been shared!

[points to component]

Optimus Prime: So why was this found in human possession?

Optimus Prime: What your leaders say is true: this was all my fault. I told them whom to trust. I was so wrong.

Sam Witwicky: That doesn’t make it your fault, it just makes you human for a change.

Optimus Prime: Remember this: you may lose your faith in us, but never in yourselves.

Sam Witwicky: I need to know how you’re going to fight back. I know there’s a strategy, I know you’re coming back with reinforcements, something. I know there’s a plan. You can tell me, no other human will ever know.

Optimus Prime: There is no plan.

Sam Witwicky: If we just do what they want, how are we ever going to live with ourselves?

Optimus Prime: You are my friend Sam, you always will be. But your leaders have spoken. From here the fight will be your own.

Megatron: Now, we need a truce. All I want is to be back in charge. Besides, who would you be without me, Prime?

Optimus Prime: Time to find out!

[attacks Megatron and beheads him]

The Martian – US Box Office: USD 228.43 million

Director: Ridley Scott

Main Cast:  Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels, Michael Peña, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Mackenzie Davis, Donald Glover, Nick Mohammed, Shu Chen, Eddy Ko, Enzo Cilenti, Jonathan Aris

Release Date: 2 October 2015

Filming Locations:  Wadi Rum, Jordan; Jordan; Budapest Whale, Budapest, Hungary; Korda Studios, Etyek, Hungary; Budaörs Airport, Budapest, Hungary

Main Plot: This movie mainly discusses the presumed lost and dead astronaut Mark Watney. Watney and his crew faced a storm they thought he did not survive, so they abandoned him. Without his crew’s knowledge, he stays stranded and alone on the unfriendly planet. With only limited supplies, he must find a way to contact his crew and ask for their help. Watney must stay alert and use his wit and energy to make himself alive until his team rescues him.  Millions of miles away, NASA and a team work tirelessly to save “the martian” and bring them back home safe and alive. They are working hard to make the impossible rescue mission possible. The world was waiting altogether for Watney’s safe return.

Famous quotes:

Mark Watney: I don’t want to come off as arrogant here, but I’m the greatest botanist on this planet.

Mark Watney: I’ve been thinking about laws on Mars. There’s an international treaty saying that no country can lay claim to anything that’s not on Earth. By another treaty if you’re not in any country’s territory, maritime law aplies. So Mars is international waters. Now, NASA is an American non-military organization, it owns the Hab. But the second I walk outside I’m in international waters. So Here’s the cool part. I’m about to leave for the Schiaparelli Crater where I’m going to commandeer the Ares IV lander. Nobody explicitly gave me permission to do this, and they can’t until I’m on board the Ares IV. So I’m going to be taking a craft over in international waters without permission, which by definition… makes me a pirate. Mark Watney: Space Pirate.

Mark Watney: They say once you grow crops somewhere, you have officially colonized it. So, technically, I colonized Mars. In your face, Neil Armstrong!

Mark Watney: [recording a video message] If the oxygenator breaks down, I’ll suffocate. If the water reclaimer breaks down, I’ll die of thirst. If the hab breaches, I’ll just kind of implode. If none of those things happen, I’ll eventually run out of food and starve to death. So, yeah… Yeah…

Mark Watney: I’ve got to make a lot more water. The good thing is, I know the recipe: You take hydrogen, you add oxygen, and you burn. Now, I have hundreds of liters of unused hydrazine at the MDV. If I run the hydrazine over an iridium catalyst, it’ll separate into N2 and H2. And then if I just direct the hydrogen into a small area and burn it. Luckily, in the history of humanity, nothing bad has ever happened from lighting hydrogen on fire.

Fun Fact about The Martian:

  • Rich Purnell slips and falls after he finds a way to rescue Mark Watney and tells his boss, “I need more coffee.” Donald Glover revealed in an interview that he slipped for real and just got up and continued to act, and the footage was retained in the final edits for the movie.

But NASA does not have many funds to use yet a resourceful team that was trained, and best fits the driller’s job. Famous quotes:

Lev Andropov: It’s stuck, yes?

Watts: Back off! You don’t know the components!

Lev Andropov: [annoyed] Components. American components, Russian Components, ALL MADE IN TAIWAN!

Rockhound: You know we’re sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good, doesn’t it?

Truman: So what’s the verdict?

Harry Stamper: They’ll do it. They’ve made a few requests though.

Truman: Such as?

Harry Stamper: [riffles through sheets of paper] Well, there’s uh, few things here, uh… nothin’ really big, uh, just- Well, as an example, uh, uh, Oscar here, he’s got some outstanding parking tickets. Wants them wiped off his record.

Um – hey, you guys wouldn’t be able to tell us who actually killed Kennedy, would ya?

[pause, turns and shakes his head]

Harry Stamper: Um, Bear would like to stay at the…

Truman: Sure, I think we can, uh, take care of… some of that.

Rockhound: [shouting from balcony] Harry!

Harry Stamper: [motions back at Rockhound] Yeah one more thing, um… none of them wanna pay taxes again.

[pauses]

Harry Stamper: Ever.

Karl: Sir, I’m retired navy, I know all about classified. But one more thing. The person that finds her gets to name her right?

Dan: Yes-yes that’s right, that’s right.

Karl: I wanna name her Dottie after my wife. She’s a vicious life-sucking bitch from which there is no escape.

A.J.: Just tell Grace that, uh, that I’ll always be with her. Okay? Can you do that?

Harry Stamper: Yeah. Okay, kid.

Harry Stamper: [pulls AJ’s air hose out and rips off his own mission badge and hands it to AJ] Give this to Truman. Make sure Truman gets that! Get in there.

[pushes AJ back into the hatch and closes the door]

Harry Stamper: It’s my turn now.

A.J.: Harry! Harry! You can’t do this to me! It’s my job!

Harry Stamper: You go take care of my little girl now. That’s your job. Always thought of you as a son. Always. But, I’d be damn proud to have you marry Grace.

A.J.: [beginning to cry] Harry.

Harry Stamper: You take care of yourself.

[pushes a button sending the hatch up]

A.J.: Harry, no!

Harry Stamper: I love you,pal.

A.J.: Harry, I love you! Don’t Harry! Wait a minute! Harry, no!

Harry Stamper: Goodbye son.

Roosevelt: Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States Of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by Naval and Air Forces of the Empire of Japan. The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American military forces, I regret to tell you that over three thousand American lives have been lost. No matter how long it may take us to over come this pre-meditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory. Because of this unprovoked, dastardly attack by Japan, I ask that the congress declare a state of War.

  • When shooting the scene where Rafe (Ben Affleck) and Danny (Josh Hartnett) manage to get off the ground during the attack and are chased by three Japanese Zeroes, one of the real planes clipped a palm tree and crashed. The pilot was dazed and suffered only a broken finger.

This documentary also shows how Saudis were safely transported to their land despite American planes being grounded after the attacks. Collected film footage, snap interviews with politicians, and overall waste of public funds for a war initiated to refocus the public from the true enemy and get the American’s attention and watch how Iraq and Afghanistan get killed. The war may cause the USA to be an enemy in the eyes of all its neighboring countries.

Famous quotes:

Narrator: George Orwell once wrote that, “It’s not a matter of whether the war is not real, or if it is, Victory is not possible. The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia but to keep the very structure of society intact.”

Michael Moore: If you get called up, will you go back to Iraq?

Marine Who Served in Iraq: No.

Michael Moore: You’re not?

Marine Who Served in Iraq: No.

Michael Moore: Are you willing to risk that?

Marine Who Served in Iraq: Yes. Yes, I – I will not let my person… I will not let anyone send me back over there to kill other poor people. Especially when they pose no threat to me and my country.

[breif pause]

Marine Who Served in Iraq: I won’t do it.

George W. Bush: This is an impressive crowd: the haves, and the have-mores.

[crowd laughs]

George W. Bush: Some people call you the elite, I call you my base.

Narrator: The first time I met him, he had some good advice for me.

Michael Moore: [Calling out] Governer Bush, it’s Michael Moore!

George W. Bush: Behave yourself, will ya? Go find real work!

Britney Spears: I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that.

You know? Or when I read you those stories? Or when I let you goof off instead of mowing the lawn? Lots of things like that. And you’re gonna realize that you love me. And maybe you’re gonna feel badly, because you never told me. But don’t – I know that you love me. So don’t ever do that to yourself, all right?

You my opposer when I want justice. You my opposer when I want equality. Want me to go somewhere and fight for you? Release Date: 16 August 1996

Filming Locations: Tubac, Arizona, USA; Hotel Congress, Tucson, Arizona, USA; Tucson, Arizona, USA; Kingwood, Texas, USA; Sonoita, Arizona, USA

Main Plot: This movie talks about the life of Roy McAvoy, a failed pro golfer who loses his interest in the sport despite his talent. His urge to show off to his old rival david Simms, and to get Simms’s girlfriend’s attention, Molly. Unable to resist the dare, he made his car lose into the bet. Falling for Molly, Roy decided to become her patient. He wanted Molly to trust him, which is why he tried out for the US Open after starting off as Simms’s assistant ‘for the benefits of his experience.’ Talent alone would not be enough, and he got the inspiration from Molly to start again, to do things in his own way. He openly shows his affection to Molly, but with Simms hanging around, things are not easy.

Famous quotes:

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: Sex and golf are the two things you don’t have to be good at to enjoy

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: Well, I tend to think of the golf swing as a poem.

Clint: Ooh, he’s doing that poetry thing again.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: The critical opening phrase of this poem will always be the grip. Which the hands unite to form a single unit by the simple overlap of the little finger. Lowly and slowly the clubhead is led back. Pulled into position not by the hands, but by the body which turns away from the target shifting weight to the right side without shifting balance. Tempo is everything; perfection unobtainable as the body coils down at the top of the swing. Theres a slight hesitation. A little nod to the gods.

Dr. Molly Griswold: A, a nod to the gods?

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: Yeah, to the gods. That he is fallible. That perfection is unobtainable. And now the weight begins shifting back to the left pulled by the powers inside the earth. It’s alive, this swing! A living sculpture and down through contact, always down, striking the ball crisply, with character. A tuning fork goes off in your heart and your balls. Such a pure feeling is the well-struck golf shot. Now the follow through to finish. Always on line. The reverse C of the Golden Bear! The steel workers’ power and brawn of Carl Sandburg’s. Arnold Palmer!

Romeo Posar: Unnhh, he’s doing the Arnold Palmer thing.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: End the unfinished symphony of Roy McAvoy.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: If I had it to do all over again, I’d still hit that shot.

Romeo: Man, you’d bury yourself alive just to prove you could handle the shovel.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: [Explaining the golf shot he made as David’s caddy] When a defining moment comes along you define the moment or the moment defines you.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: You know why I still hit that shot?

Romeo Posar: Yeah, because it’s the only way you could beat Dave Simms.

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: No.

Romeo Posar: ‘Cause it was that look in your face…

Roy ‘Tin Cup’ McAvoy: I hit it again because that shot was a defining moment, and when a defining moment comes along, you define the moment… or the moment defines you.

Fun Fact about Tin Cup:

  • The script called for a water hazard when filming at the Tubac Golf Resort in the Arizona desert. Since there were none on the course, the filmmakers built one and named it “Tin Cup Lake”.
