Give Me Shelter Project
Their adventure started in 2008 when they joined a tiny team of unaffiliated rescuers who banded together to save 88 animals from an impending eviction. Most of the cats lacked the necessary friendliness to be adopted.
They looked far and wide, and they were able to locate the cats (8 animals were transported to an Arizona sanctuary!). They carried out a comparable rescue in 2010–2011 and a significant rescue again in 2012.
Many organizations urged them to give the cats to the neighborhood “kill” shelter. Instead, they felt forced to consider each cat’s life and do all in their power to safeguard it. Along the way, they helped countless other cats in need, like Becky, who was blind and lived on the streets, and Allison, imprisoned in an abandoned building.
A fractured arm was discovered on the road next to a hit-and-run hobo. Many of these animals have since settled into wonderful, permanent homes. They work to spread the idea that EVERY ANIMAL COUNTS.

A network of rescuers on a social networking platform gave rise to AdvoCat Rescue.
When a stray cat or a litter of kittens needed rescuing in Forest Hills, Rego Park, and Kew Gardens Queens, a few cat-loving neighbors would band together.

Billy’s Loving Cats Inc.
Their goal is to assist as many disadvantaged animals as possible in the neighborhood. They feed more than 105 cats between the two major members of their 501(c)(3), Billy and Ellen.
TNR is, of course, their main focus. Then, wherever they can, they erect shelters. Every Fall, they replace the straw bedding so that they have clean resting arrangements for the winter.
They have pallets with straw below, which the shelters then rest on, depending on the area. They line the shelters with rugs, blankets, and whatever other insulation they can think of before covering everything with many tarps and anchoring it with bricks.

No matter where they are born, their goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and place dogs in loving homes that are homeless, mistreated, or neglected. Their goal is to bring about a society that values animal welfare and puts an end to animal abuse.
Without the help of paid staff or a shelter facility, Stray from the Heart works directly with domestic and foreign outreach groups and centers for Animal Care and Control to rescue and rehabilitate. They find permanent homes for abandoned and neglected dogs.
