World’s Largest Rubber Stamp
Bring your camera to visit the Giant Rubber Stamp in Ohio!
On the bottom of the stamp is a large red “FREE” tribute to a nearby monument honoring Cleveland’s soldiers and marines.
Alton Whitehouse, the CEO of Oil Companies of Ohio, ordered the stamp of approval in 1985.
Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, a well-known husband-and-wife sculpting team, created the vast piece to brighten up the 659-foot Sohio Structure’s grayscale exterior.
Eventually, in 1991, this badge was transported from an Indiana warehouse and installed in midtown Cleveland, Ohio.
Willard Park is home to the nation’s most giant rubber stamp, which could be found there.
He now sits in Willard Park, ultimately receiving the recognition it deserves.
