The Surfcat Cafe and Adoption Center

From the local municipal shelter, Surfcat rescues cats with unique needs, behavioral issues, and medical conditions. They locate loving, permanent homes for these “forgotten” cats and kittens after rehabilitating them in foster homes. Due to their significant medical expenses, they always require financial assistance to save these unique kids. Many of these cats sustained severe burns due to the Southern California wildfires, which reduced their medical fund to almost nothing. Surfcat has experienced an increase in the number of cats being turned over to their neighborhood shelters due to Covid-19.

When the epidemic started, many people who were suddenly working from home or unemployed bought cats for companionship. In contrast, these were the folks who were also losing their houses and more, causing them to give up their cats in a desperate attempt to keep them safe. At the same time, they made their living arrangements. Unfortunately, cats don’t do well in shelters; they become unwell, sad, and eventually shut down and pass away.

So that they could spare these precious kittens from impending death, Surfcat decided to postpone its public brick-and-mortar plans. Their foster program immediately expanded, and they have been putting these kitties into cozy, caring homes. They will have enough time to recuperate from the trauma of being abandoned. Now, Surfcat needs your assistance!

The program ensures that each dog in the S.D.F. family has a good life and is never at risk of returning to a shelter. It is S.D.F.’s steadfast dedication.
