Lowell Bergman: Jeffrey, where are you going with this? Where are you going? (Pause) You are important to a lot of people, Jeffrey. You think about that, and you think about them. (Pause) I’m all out of heroes, man. Guys like you are in short supply.

Ron Motley: Boy, you got rights… and lefts. Ups and downs and middles. So what? You don’t get to instruct anything around here! This is not North Carolina, not South Carolina, nor Kentucky! This is the sovereign State of Mississippi’s proceeding. WIPE THAT SMIRK OFF YOUR FACE! Dr. Wigand’s deposition will be part of this record! Helen Caperelli: Mike… Mike… Mike…

Mike Wallace: [to Helen Caperelli] Mike? “Mike.” Try “Mr. Wallace”. We work in the same corporation doesn’t mean we work in the same profession. What are you going to do now? The police found the children drowned in a locked cistern. Alice her self is in the nursery and both of her legs are completely shattered. Her left arm is broken in four places and six of her ribs are crushed. And in her right hand is the large hammer she’s been using to break her own bones. They find her just as she’s going to work on her skull. Her right arm, though, is completely unharmed. Because she needed it to wield the hammer.

Fun fact about Oculus:

  • Director Mike Flanagan has included the Oculus mirror as an Easter egg in most of his movies and TV shows: it’s in the basement of “Ouija: Origin of Evil”, the headboard in “Gerald’s Game”, the walls in “The Haunting of Hill House”, and the Overlook Hotel in “Doctor Sleep”.

Famous quotes:

Eddie: [reading Michael’s birthday card] Happy Birthday, Michael, you lucky son-of-a-bitch. Many happy returns. Love, Melissa.

[Eddie appears wearing a big fat jacket on backwards]

Melissa: How do they wear their jackets back at the mental hospital?

[Tina gets angry and snaps Melissa’s pearl necklace with her telekinesis]

Melissa: You are nuts!

Nick: Shut up, Melissa.

Melissa: I don’t believe you. You people give me the creeps.

[walks away]

Nick: Hey, where do you think you’re going?

Melissa: I’m going back to bed. You wanna come?

Nick: Look, Melissa, just stay here with us.

Melissa: It’s not my style.

Nick: Don’t go out there!

Melissa: Fuck you. And fuck you both!

[opens the door to see Jason standing there; he bludgeons her head with an axe]

Judy: I’m cold.

Dan: Why don’t we crawl in the sack?

Judy: Why don’t you fix the fire?

Dan: There’s no wood.

Judy: We’re in a forest!

Melissa: Eddie… Eddie! This isn’t going to work out.

Eddie: What’s the matter?

Melissa: I lied.

Eddie: Lied about what?

Melissa: About everything. You just don’t turn me on, really. But c’mon, at least I gave you a chance. You just didn’t come through. Anyway, I was kind of hoping Nick would come back and find you with me.

Eddie: Why’d you lie?

Melissa: You know, make him jealous.

Eddie: Rejection. Okay, fine. I can take it. I’ve been rejected by some of the finest science fiction magazines in the continental United States!

Melissa: Eddie, where are you going?

Eddie: To take a cold shower. I got a date with a soap on a rope.

Sequel: The Final Friday

Fun fact about Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood:

  • During filming, Kane Hodder’s dressing room was a quarter of a mile down a dirt road. One night filming ended at 2 a.m., and while in the Jason costume, he decided to walk through the woods on a path to his dressing room. While walking, someone approached him and asked if he was with the movie. He didn’t reply because he thought it was a pretty stupid question, as he was standing there in full Jason costume. When the man asked again, Kane took a little lunge at him and grunted. The guy took off, tripping and running. The next day director John Carl Buechler told Kane that the local sheriff was supposed to stop by, but he never showed.
