Main Plot: An uncompromising journalist from Chicago and an eagle expert find themselves involved in an improbable love affair. Ernie Souchak, played by John Belushi, is a tough Chicago reporter. After getting a bit too close to the Mob, he is attacked by two corrupt police officers ordered by a corrupt alderman, and he winds up in the hospital as a result of the attack. His editor decides to deflect attention away from him by dispatching him to Colorado to examine an eagle researcher known as “Blair Brown.” After beginning their relationship as sparring partners, the two gradually fell in love; however, Souchak was forced to return to Chicago when one of his sources was found dead under unexplained circumstances.

Main Plot: Mel Coplin goes on a journey, leaving his wife and infant child behind. Before adoptive Mel connects with his lineage, he and his wife Nancy can’t agree on a name for their baby. Once he discovers who he is, he tells her choosing a name for their son will be easy. Mel’s father hires Tina Kalb, a student psychologist and part-time adoption agency, to assist him in finding Mel’s supposed biological mother. After clerical errors and mistaken identities, Mel’s birth parents, the Schlictings, have been identified in rural New Mexico. Mrs. Coplin mispronounced their name, referring to them as the “Shit-kings.” She’s paying for the privilege herself. His adoptive parents are forced to lament the loss of their ungrateful son. The Schlictings (mistakenly pronounced as “Shit-kings” by Mrs. Coplin) are Mel’s biological parents, and they live in rural New Mexico. However, finding them was complicated by clerical errors and phony identities. Nancy’s missing high school pal, his gay partner, and the occasional super-charged libido. Mel starts to question if he would have been better off if he’d never met these people.

Main Plot: When three ladies go back to their hometown for their ten-year high school reunion, they learn that a time capsule that was created on graduation night will be opened, and the contents will be read out during the next event. This information is revealed to them when they attend the gathering. The capsule was created on the night that they graduated from high school. The three women manufactured the tablet; inside, it was a forecast of where each individual would be in ten years. They are so petrified at the idea of their unrealized goals being revealed that they embark on a mission to “find and destroy” the capsule, resulting in chaos.
