The Cat Posse
In Southern California, a group known as The Cat Posse is committed to saving and rehabbing abandoned and mistreated cats.
As they work toward the day when all public shelters are “no-kill,” they educate our communities about the significance and belief that all animals deserve respect and kindness. The Cat Posse is entirely run and driven by a team of committed volunteers who rescue, care for, foster, and place cats for adoption.
110 of the 200 cats in their current care are available for adoption. In their shelter, 50% of the cats are ten years old or older, and many have special requirements.
They have cats who need fluids regularly, cats who have respiratory issues, cancer, and cats who occasionally need surgeries for a variety of reasons. They also have cats who have thyroid, dental, eye, and intestinal diseases.
Those who cannot be adopted will spend the rest of their lives in foster homes, receiving the love and care they so richly deserve.

The Kitten Rescue non-profit organization is dedicated to helping homeless cats and kittens find loving homes.
They save cats and kittens that would otherwise be put to death at the Los Angeles City Shelter. Over 25,000 cats have been kept and placed in loving homes since they first started in 1997.

The TNR Project
To stop the cycle of street breeding, The TNR Project is committed to performing mass TNR (Trap. Neuter. Return) operations locally.
FACT: Most cats in shelters come from the streets—roughly 80–90% of them. They sterilize, vaccinate, and return every adult cat or dog in a colony. Then, The TNR Project relies on foster families to help them rescue as many kittens as possible to foster, socialize, and adopt into loving homes.
By donating time after work to help, they have trapped, neutered, and returned over 21,000 cats between 2015 and 2020.

A community-focused animal rescue and adoption facility run entirely by volunteers, Santé D’Or Foundation is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization.
The animals come to them from the streets or are given up by locals who are in dire straits financially, going through a crisis, or are no longer able to care for them. They take in animals that would have otherwise been abandoned, probably put to death due to overcrowding, or simply left behind on our city streets.

betterTogether Forever provides resources and referrals to at-risk, under-resourced, under-served, and housing-challenged pet parents. The program will help people keep their pets safe and healthy and never give them up, abandon them on the streets, or surrender them to an animal shelter.
Funding and programs for spaying/neutering are given priority to address the pet overpopulation issue at its root—unintended litters.
