But I think it’s time to tell the truth. S.H.I.E.L.D. is not what we thought it was. It’s been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The S.T.R.I.K.E. and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don’t know how many more, but I know they’re in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want. Absolute control. They shot Nick Fury. And it won’t end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA can kill anyone that stands in their way. Unless we stop them. I know I’m asking a lot. But the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it’s a price I’m willing to pay. And if I’m the only one, then so be it. But I’m willing to bet I’m not.”

The following day, Ike is fired by his publisher and ex-wife for lying and going too far fabricating information.  His only chance to get back into his job is to write a fact-based report on Maggie, and her upcoming fourth marriage attempt, which Ike believes will also fail. Helen tells him he is a spy. Harry forces his partner Albert Gibson to follow Simon and Helen using their agency’s resources. They kidnap Helen in disguise and later give her a pseudo-mission. Arnold Schwarzenegger has not been informed of this in advance. This is implied when Harry sits for a moment, alarmed, realizing that he is breaking the character and then relaxing. They made another recording with the same line, but Harry’s reaction didn’t seem so spontaneous.
