Blue Hole

Blue Hole, Jamaica
Blue Hole is one of the best places to go in Jamaica

A glimpse of heaven on earth

Nestled in the highlands, with rope swings, freshwater springs, treks through the forest, gorgeous waterfalls, and awe-inspiring vistas.

There are a few different names for it, including Island Gully Falls and the Irie Blue Hole.

The hike to the waterfalls is not an easy one, but there is a lot to see along the trip.

The farther up the falls you walk, the less likely it is that you will run into other people. Yet, the trail might be difficult to navigate at times.

This region is not as overwhelmed with tourists as many of the other spots in Ocho Rios, making it an excellent choice for vacationers looking for an alternative to the standard activities.

It is recommended that you wear shoes appropriate for walking in water if you plan on participating in the activity because it entails climbing over slippery rocks.

If you find yourself in Jamaica, you really must make time to go swimming at the Blue Hole!

The Millionaire’s Corner

There is a lot of buzz about this region, and once you arrive, you’ll understand why, not just for Jamaicans but for the entire Caribbean.

George Stiebel, Jamaica’s first black millionaire, envisioned the Devon House Mansion, now one of the island’s most recognized historical buildings.

One of three wealthy Jamaicans built lavish residences at the corner of Trafalgar Road and Hope Road in the late 19th century after gaining their wealth from gold mining in South America.

Incorporating elements of both Caribbean and Georgian design, the Devon House mansion’s interiors feature a carefully curated assortment of Jamaican, English, and French antiques and reproductions.

An enormous expanse of lush, green grass can be seen from the Mansion’s windows.

In 1990, the Jamaica National Heritage Trust designated Devon House as a national monument in honor of Stiebel.

While it was formerly the residence of George Stiebel, Jamaica’s first black millionaire, Devon House now serves as a hub for shopping, dining, and enjoyment for the whole family in Kingston.
