Do you have a thing for trains? This is the one for you.

The SNCF Ascq station is located in the Nord department of the Hauts-de-France region in Ascq.

By the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer du Nord, which built and commissioned it in 1865, it became operational.

The TER Hauts-de-France trains stop in Ascq. It is possible to go to Paris or Lille from here. Ascq station also connects to various European locations like Brussels and London. SNCB trains do run to and from this stop in Belgium.

Throughout the nineteenth century, the industrial revolution is advancing in northern France’s economy. In 1865, a railway station was built connecting Ascq to Lille, and in 1885, a second one merged it to Roubaix.

Several trains passed through Ascq during the Second World War, and the resistance there would often damage the trains.

The AAATV organization runs a small train museum in the train garage (Halle aux trains) at the railway station in Paris. It has a restored 141 TC 51 steam engine and a BB 12004 electric locomotive, among many other railway items.

Historic churches like Eglise Saint-Pierre de Flers-Bourg are well worth a visit.

Église Catholique Saint-Pierre à Flers-Bourg has undergone several renovations. Yet, many of its original features may still be found.

At the beginning of the sixteenth century, the current structure was rebuilt.

Chalk blocks from Lezennes have been cut and placed on a sandstone base to form its 16th-century-style sidewalls.

The entrance to the cemetery may be seen on the north side of the wall.

A bell tower was attached to the west of the nave.

A polygonal turret has been attached to its north face to get to the old watch room.

The church’s main entrance is an open sandstone doorway at the tower’s base. In the first part of the 16th century, hardwood panels with studded designs were used to create these doors.

Overlooking Charles V’s coat of arms and the arms of the Holy Roman Emperor, Saint Peter holds a big key in his right hand on the trumeau.
