The work of a local. Robert Asp built a full replica of a 9th-century Norwegian burial ship because he wanted to sail it back to Norway and honor his own Norwegian heritage. The ship now sits inside a climate-controlled building at the Center itself.

That is the Roger Maris Museum. Maris was a North Dakota native who broke Babe Ruth’s home run record, and the museum holds his 1961 American League MVP trophy and the bat he used.
