Arco Naturale

Arco Naturale (Capri), Italy
Arco Naturale (Capri), Italy / Dr Tr / Flickr

The only surviving piece of a long-gone cavern formed by the erosion of a grotto during the Paleolithic.

It was once a cave that had been eroded into this arch.

The Arco Naturale is a natural limestone arch connecting two rock pillars. It is placed on the edge of a cliff, at 18 meters in height and 12 meters in width.

There are two paths you can choose if you want to visit the rock formation. One is from the scenic route that passes by the Faraglioni, and the other is near Capri’s Main Square.

This is a spectacular view surrounded by the scenery of the sea.

It’s a pleasant walk away from the tourist attractions, with views into courtyards and towards the town. For those brave enough to explore the grottoes below, the path continues all the way down to the sea.

Make this your one-of-a-kind trip as you enjoy it!

Let your exploration lead you to nature.

The Belvedere di Tragara is known as one of Capri’s most accessible panoramic viewpoints and one of the most evocative, with views of the Faraglioni sea stacks and the charming Marina Piccola.

This vantage point overlooks the cliffs below, which are covered in tropical plants, and waves crashing along the shoreline.

A small rocky beach with a couple of private beach clubs is accessible via steps near the belvedere.

When you arrive at the viewpoint, you’ll notice a particular stain of paint that hasn’t moved in over 50 years. Everyone sees something different in that particular orange spot. Some people see a giraffe, some an elephant, and more.

There are actually two ideal times to visit the top. During the day, preferably not during the hottest hours, and at night, preferably when the moon is full,

The view of the stunning Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni of Capri from the top of the Belvedere di Tragara is more spectacular when illuminated by the moon.

Customize your own sandals with different designs to choose from.

The Capri Sandal has been around for almost two millennia.

Since Emperor Augustus lived on the island in 29 BC, women already had their passion for wearing leather sandals and tying them in a goatskin strap. They still use the same materials as what it was before.

Crystals, rhinestones, corals, and other decorative stones were used to create more fashionable sandals.

What drives their spirit is blending with tradition and, at the same time, innovating a better quality of products such as “Jewel Sandal.”

This is also the only workshop in Capri where you can create designs and customize your own sandals. You can choose anything you want from its color, style, skin type, and other decorations, such as jewels.

Craftspeople who are highly skilled stand in front of you, and the sandals will be ready in just ten minutes.

Wear them and walk like a fashionista!

Discover one of the old historical structures in Capri.

The Certosa di San Giacomo was founded by Giacomo Arcucci. It was a Carthusian monastery in the mid-14th century and is now a museum that hosts different cultural events.

The three main parts of the charterhouse are the highlights of the place. These are the monk’s building, pharmacy, and women’s church.

If you look at its structure, you can think that it was inspired by a late Renaissance style that has geometrical designs and stone columns in the green spaces of the center.

It now houses a Diefenbach museum, an intermediate-level school, and a concert venue.

People who visit this place describe it as a peaceful place as they appreciate how it gives you an escape from the city’s busy life.

Discover the secrets of one of the islands of Capri’s most mysterious caves.

Once you stand up, you can see the stark contrast between the cave’s white light and the sea’s blue among the white limestone rocks, which creates a surreal atmosphere due to the dense and suggestive stalactites and stalagmites.

The White Grotto can reach it directly from the sea via a steep staircase carved into the rock.

During the boat tour, passengers will be able to see both water and stunning rock formations. It may not be as spectacular as Green Grotto or Blue Grotto, but it is still incredibly amazing, and it is definitely something you should see if you have the chance.

If you want to avoid getting a tan, don’t forget to put on some sunscreen!

Grotta Verde

Grotta Verde, Capri, Italy
Grotta Verde is one of the best places to go in Capri, Italy

Resembling an enormous liquid emerald where you can swim or climb the cliffs.

Grotta Verde is one of the several natural sea caves along Capri’s rugged coastline. It is famous for its unique green light, which filters through the water and reflects on the walls; that’s why it is also called as Green Grotto.

The green light on the rocks is a composite effect caused by blue light reflected and transmitted from the water, which reflects and transmits onto the cave’s yellowish-hued sides and roof.

The Cave of the Turks is the other nickname of the grotto due to the pirates in the 1500s that launch surprise attacks against passing ships. It was only after it became a popular attraction with 19th-century travelers on boat excursions around Capri Island.

If you are joining a boat tour, most of the time, this grotto, along with others located in Capri, is one of the stops that you should see.

Enjoying the dreamy atmosphere inside the cave!

What’s the catch in one of Capri’s most famous squares?

This is a square where you can experience the spirit and beauty of the island, surrounded by pubs, restaurants, and a panoramic view of La Piazzetta.

It’s no surprise that it’s been dubbed “The World’s Living Room” because of its stylish bars, breathtaking views, history, and classic and modern architecture.

Raffaele Vuotto, the man behind the square’s fame as a gathering place for locals and tourists, founded it in 1938. He is a young islander who has set up a table in his Piazzetta bar to attract customers.

It was once a market square selling vegetables, fish, and meats.

Admire the views from the top and be captivated by the soaring sea.

Augustus Gardens is known as a natural paradise since it offers a panoramic view of Capri from the top of the island. This garden was originally named “Krupp Gardens,” but it was later changed.

In the twentieth century, the garden was built by Friedrich Alfred Krupp, a German businessman.

There are parts of the garden that will keep you entertained while you enjoy the view of the ocean. There are beautiful floras in a variety of colors, including yellow, pink, green, red, and others.

They also have decorative plants like dahlias, geraniums, and brooms.

Commenters described the garden as a romantic overlook of the jagged coast and small harbor. As it gives you a view that you can never forget.

It is a tranquil haven with breathtaking views of the tiny cove of Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni sea stacks around it.

To avoid crowds, you must arrive early!

The Phoenician Steps

The Phoenician Steps (Capri), Italy
The Phoenician Steps (Capri), Italy / Dennis Jarvis / Flickr

Are you going to make it to 921?

Linking between Marina Grande and Anacapri. The 921 steps were the only connection between Anacapri and other places until 1874.

To get there from the port, you need to walk for about 400 meters along with Palazzo a Mare until you see a brick ramp on your right with a majolica sign indicating the beginning of the steps.

For your information, the stairway was most likely built by ancient Greek colonists rather than Phoenicians. It is a hundred feet above the Mediterranean Sea.

The steps are a little bit uneven and rough in places. Because of their advanced age, you need to be much more careful about where you put your foot on the steps.

A small seventeenth-century church can be found halfway down the hill. And a bench is available for resting.

You should go to Villa San Michele Capri before going down the Phoenician Steps. It’s at the summit of the Phoenician Steps, making it one of the best spots with breathtaking views.
