It is one of the holiest places in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nDaishi, also known as Kukai, is a pivotal person in Japanese Buddhist history. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nHe is claimed to be in endless meditation, awaiting the Buddha of the future. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nThose that travel to his mausoleum do so to seek salvation in this life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nWhen tourists arrive at the cemetery, they will cross the Ichinohashi Bridge, the first bridge inside the cemetery. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nVisitors will pass over 200,000 tombstones on their route to the mausoleum. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nThe road leads to the Gokusho Offering Hall, where visitors can give offerings and pray for lost family members.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\nA visit here would be an awesome experience to have in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
